Physical Setting West Cyprus , the district of Paphos, occupies an area of 1395 sq km which constitutes about 15.1% of the total area of the Island . A large area of Geroskipou is irrigated by water from the Asprokremmos dam, which encourages the cultivation of crops such as grapes, citrus, banana and vegetables. Climate The coastal regions enjoy low rainfall which is almost negligible between May and October, however there is more rain inland during the winter months. It is rare, even in winter, for temperatures on the coast to dip below 12 degrees centigrade and in summer the temperatures from May onwards usually are in excess of 25 degrees. Inland, and in the mountains, temperatures are lower by several degrees. Touristic Development The Sport and athletic infrastructure has been promoted in Geroskipou.
